Der Kopf bleibt warm, die Füße dagegen kalt. In Altbauten sind Kellerdecken oft nur minimal gedämmt. Die Wärme fließt aus den Wohnräumen nach unten und treibt somit die Heizkosten nach oben. Obwohl ein Keller in den häufigsten Fällen kalt bleiben soll, beschränken sich die Dämmmaßnahmen meistens auf den Schallschutz. In einem Durchschnittshaus gehen fast 10 Prozent der Energie verloren, weil das Kellergeschoss mangelhaft gedämmt wird. Demgegenüber fällt eine energetisch einwandfrei sanierte Gebäudehülle dadurch auf, dass beheizte und unbeheizte Räume wärmetechnisch vollständig voneinander abgetrennt sind. Neben dem Keller betrifft dies zum Beispiel auch angrenzende Garagen und Dachgeschoss mit Estrich.

Um eine Kellerdecke zu dämmen, bleibt der Aufwand beschränkt. Wir empfehlen je nach gewünschten U-Wert, Dämmstärken zwischen 8 Zentimeter und 14 Zentimeter. Die Kosten für die gesamte Konstruktion sind ebenfalls niedrig: Gegenüber einem Dämmen der Dachflächen oder der Fassade ist der finanzielle Aufwand für den Keller nur halb so groß.

Kellerwände

Als Dämmmaterialien an der Kellerdecke eignen sich der Kematherm Wärmedämmputz im Spritzverfahren, oder stabile Platten aus Steinwolle. Am praktikabelsten ist es, die Dämmplatten zwischen der Decke und den Heizungsrohren zu platzieren. Wichtig dabei: Heizungsrohre und Warmwasserleitungen sind ebenfalls zu dämmen, insbesondere wenn die warmen Leitungen die Kellerdecke durchbohren. Dauerhafte Nutzung

Ein hochwertiger Wärmeschutz ist vorgeschrieben, wenn der Keller dauerhaft genutzt werden soll. Werden Räume auf oder unter Terrain bewohnt und beheizt, müssen die direkt ans Erdreich angrenzenden Bauteile eine gute Wärmedämmung aufweisen. Die Empfehlung von Fachleuten geht somit dahin, dass die Außenwände ca. 0,50m von der Decke an die Wand mit gedämmt werden und zusätzlich ca. 1,00m im Ixel zur Innenwand.
